Parade starts 5:30pm and is not long.

LOCATION: Westfield Industrial Park, just west of Westfield Village Park, Pioneer Park Rd.

Show our county that Democrats are everywhere! It’s fun to walk in a parade and show your pride for democratic values and Democratic candidates.

Come as you are! Come for some or all of it. Enjoy snacks and beverages.

The Committee for the First Amendment (CFA) and No Kings are hosting this national event, an uplifting evening of song and solidarity! Featuring an all-star line-up of performers, this 90-minute concert event will celebrate the freedoms guaranteed by our First Amendment—of speech, religion, press, assembly, and protest—and the people's power that both fuels these rights and is essential to guarantee them.

Even as authoritarians increase their attacks on our freedoms and communities, we see examples across the country of people rising up together, taking action, and turning back those forces.

The concert will feature Jane Fonda, Patti Smith, Bette Midler, Rufus Wainwright, Sasha Allen, Joy Reid, Wilson Cruz, Broadway Inspirational Voices, and more!

Anyone can submit a design, too. Send your design by June 15th to brian@mcblue.org, or drop it at the office (open hours below). If you get stuck for time, bring it with you to the meeting! You can email Brian with questions or a template. The actual sign will be 10.75” high by 8-10 feet wide.

What’s Ranked-Choice Voting (RCV)?
It’s an electoral system where voters rank candidates in order of preference, rather than just choosing a single candidate.

“RCV is not a new electoral system by any means. It’s been utilized in a number of places in the United States since around 1915. RCV is used in city elections in New York City and several other cities and towns, both large and small. It’s also used at the state level in Maine for federal elections, Alaska (paired with a type of non-partisan “open” primary) for all state and federal elections, and elsewhere for presidential primaries. Internationally, versions of it are used widely in Australia, Ireland, Malta, and elsewhere. And notably, a young senator who went by the name Barry Obama proposed RCV in Illinois way back in 2002. While the eventual President Obama’s efforts failed, legislation related to RCV continues to regularly be filed in the Illinois General Assembly.”

There is an Independent Candidate running for our 6th Congressional District seat. He is supported by a Nebraska PAC - outside money. He is trying to win our Democratic votes. We have been told he has not been truthful when talking about Democratic candidates to others. We need all the Democratic votes possible to unseat Glenn Grothman. Grothman must go!

We will support the winner of the primary election, which is August 11. We have primaries for Governor, State Treasurer, and our 6th US Congressional District Representative.
