For over a decade, Wisconsin’s 39th District was drawn to silence voices. That era is over. With the state’s new competitive maps, District 39 is finally up for grabs. We are seeking a bold, community-minded leader to take the fight for working families, small business owners, and our natural environment to the State Capitol - an assembly representative to champion Democratic values in our district!
We’ve been sidelined by Republican politics for too long. We are seeking a bold, community-minded leader to champion Democratic values in our district! You won’t just be a legislator; you’ll be the leader who brings common-sense, progressive values back to our rural communities and small towns throughout Adams, Columbia, Fond du Lac, Green Lake, Marquette, and Winnebago counties. Values that align with the Democratic platform, including good paying jobs, voter protections, government transparency, Constitutional rights & freedoms.
Key Responsibilities
Progressive Policy: Champion Medicaid/BadgerCare expansion, afforadable housing, and sustainable, restructured funding for rural public schools.
Environmental Stewardship: Advocate for the Fox River, Green Lake, Buffalo Lake, and local wetlands through clean water and climate resilience initiatives.
Community-First Budgeting: Fight for shared revenue to fix rural roads and invest the state surplus into middle-class tax relief.
Voter Advocacy: Act as a bridge for residents across Adams, Columbia, Fond du Lac, Green Lake, Marquette, and Winnebago counties.
Qualifications & Legal Requirements
To hold this office, candidates must meet the following constitutional and statutory requirements:
Citizenship & Age: Must be a U.S. Citizen and at least 18 years of age.
Residency: Must be a resident of Wisconsin for one year and a qualified elector of the 39th Assembly District at the time of taking office.
Legal Standing: May not have a felony conviction in any U.S. court (unless pardoned) and must not be disqualified by impediments described in § 6.03, Wis. Stats.
Compensation & Impact
Term: 2-year elected term.
Base Salary: $60,924 (Full-time focus; other employment permitted).
Expense Support: Per Diem of $85.50/day (commute) or $171.00/day (overnight), plus mileage reimbursement for district and Capitol travel.
